Soul Food

We all need soul food! It is often assumed that because I am a part of the fitness industry, that I never eat chocolate or drink wine or eat cake. This couldn't be further from the truth! I follow a Flexitarian way of eating and this  phrase, coined by Dr Libby, perfectly describes how I choose to nourish my body. Flexitarians choose whole foods, based on their ability to fuel and restore but who are also partial to a glass of bubbles or slice of cake when the occasion calls for it! Because I look after my body on a daily basis, by providing it with goodness, I can have foods that are more for pleasure than nourishment. It is what we do in our everyday lives that affects our well being so if you are eating foods that are full of colour and life, then a slice of birthday cake, some wine with the girls or that block of chocolate around your period, won't matter. Food shouldn't be something we feel guilty about, we need it so start living your Best, Active life and fuel your body and your soul.
